Senior Financial Analyst

This position is in the Office of Child Support (OCS) which establishes policies and guidelines for the child support program based on federal and state laws. Ohio's child support program provides services to help ensure that children receive the financial and medical support they are legally entitled to and deserve.

What You Will Do:

• Analyze and respond to requests from state and county child support enforcement agencies (CSEA) for financial corrections and/or manual checks.
• Research of approved policies and workflows to determine if the request was appropriate.
• Monthly review and reconciliation of financial reports as needed.
• Research child support payments that have not been remitted or redeemed.
• Complete financial corrections and manual checks timely within a defined error rate.
• Respond to state and county CSEA inquiries and educate workers regarding proper workflows or processes to be used to achieve the desired results and follow-up as needed.

Schedule: Full-time. Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Location: James A. Rhodes State Officer Tower - 30 E. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Travel: Travel is as needed. ODJFS may require occasional in-person meetings for training or other operational needs.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

• Option 1: Completion of graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; AND 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
• Option 2: Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; AND 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
• Option 3: 42 mos. exp. or 42 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
• Option 4: 12 mos. exp. as Financial Analyst, 66562.
• Option 5: Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.

Pay Information:

This position is in the State of Ohio's OCSEA Pay Range 32. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $30.55 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
