Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 06:45-19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Candidates must have ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. - Neuro and Trauma Care experience is required. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The unit consists of 44 beds and has a dedicated staff of 95. The day shift staffing includes 2 Charge Nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Night shift staffing mirrors the day shift. Patient ratios are 4:1 under normal circumstances and can stretch to 5:1. The unit utilizes various types of equipment including IV pumps, PCA pumps, and patient lifts. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are managed using Cerner. Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placements, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidate will be a team player and patient-focused. Candidates with neuro and trauma care experience will be prioritized. Floating to stepdown and med-surg units may be required. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs. Every other weekend work is expected.
