Laboratory Assistant

SALARY: $18.00 per hour SCHEDULE: Part-Time, Mon+Fri+Sat, 8-hour shifts with start time between 9:00 AM-11:00 AM; Temp to hire WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS ROLE: Build valuable experience: Gain hands-on exposure to specimen processing and laboratory operations. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Accurately enter patient demographics, insurance information, and test requests into the laboratory information system. Receive, sort, organize, and route specimens for laboratory testing. Review specimens to determine appropriate processing or disposal. Scan requisitions and transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory departments. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Experience performing high-volume, accurate data entry; 10-key experience and average typing speed 40-50 WPM with high accuracy preferred. Comfortable handling biological samples and fluids. (Bagged and in containers) Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Outlook and Windows OS. Experience working in a lab is a plus but not required. Associates or Bachelors degree in a lab science preferred or currently pursuing a degree in a lab science. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be comfortable with frequent standing, walking, repetitive computer work, and occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
