The position will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and submission of accurate and competitive construction cost estimates for various projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage a team of estimators.**Regular Job Duties*** Lead and manage the estimating team, providing guidance and ensuring high performance.* Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.* Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to ensure accuracy in estimates.* Establish and maintain cost databases, estimating software, and historical bid data.* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.* Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for project bids.* Submit bids and proposals within the required timeframe and ensure compliance with bid requirements and standards.* Continuously improve estimating processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure competitive and current estimating practices.* Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.* Monitor awarded projects to ensure estimates align with actual project costs and make adjustments as needed.* Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on estimating activities and project status**Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.* Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.* Proficiency in estimating software and tools.* Strong analytical and mathematical skills.* Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.* Knowledge of local construction regulations and industry standards.* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.The Statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and levels of work performed by employees, but are not a complete list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
