Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population and will work 12-hour day shifts, guaranteed at 36 hours per week. This position includes floating opportunities, depending on experience.Unit SummaryType: Med-Surg (Medical Surgical) with telemetry capabilitiesTotal Beds: 45 beds (adult and pediatric med-surg telemetry combined)Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:5Common Diagnoses/Patient TypesMed-surg patientsChronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)Post-operative careGastrointestinal (GI) bleedsOBGYN surgeriesOrthopedic issuesSepsisAltered Mental StatusChest Pain Rule Out (CP r/o)StrokeCellulitisAlcohol Withdrawal SyndromeQualifications2-3 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting, with pediatric experience preferredRequired Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferredExperience with telemetry and the ability to titrate drips such as heparinRole ResponsibilitiesProvide care for medical-surgical patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medicationsCollaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plansUtilize equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow nasal cannula as requiredWork alongside certified nurse aides during shiftsParticipate in self-scheduling, contributing to a collaborative work environmentAdditional InformationOrientation: 2-3 days with hands-on training and unit-specific activitiesWeekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekends in a 4-week scheduleHoliday Requirement: Participation in permanent staff rotation for holidaysCharge Nurse serves as a team lead and does not take a patient assignmentThe average patient length of stay is approximately 3 days, so expect a dynamic workflowIf you are a passionate and skilled RN looking for a challenging and rewarding position in a Med-Surg unit, we encourage you to apply.
