Job Overview Position: Tele Video Monitor Tech Hours: Per Diem Shift: Evening shift, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm; required commitment of at least 1 shift per week and 2 weekend shifts per schedule, with one summer and one winter holiday. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Manager, Patient Care or designee, you will: 1) provide continuous observation and monitoring of up to 16 high‑risk patients who are at risk for potential injury to self or others; 2) operate the Tele Sitter Video Monitoring system, perform safety rounding and patient checks; 3) maintain the fleet of video monitoring equipment, including delivery, pickup and cleaning; 4) use appropriate tone, language and de‑escalation techniques to identify and respond to escalating behaviors; 5) prioritize simultaneous situations and communicate with hospital staff promptly; 6) maintain accurate documentation and provide thorough shift hand‑off reports; 7) uphold patient and institutional confidentiality and related hospital policies; and 8) use discretion and courtesy with patients, visitors and staff. Bilingual in both English and Portuguese is preferred. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (four years of completion) Additional secondary healthcare training including mental health experience is preferred Training or equivalent experience caring for patients with behavioral issues required Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Ability to remain calm in crisis and emergency situations is required Highly effective interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills required Previous similar patient care experience preferred Minimum of one year of equivalent educational and experience background required Efficiency in multitasking and prioritization of simultaneous situations required Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID‑19 or be exempt with a signed statement certifying the exemption when hired Compensation Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
