Design Engineer (electrical controls and electrical schematics)

Job Summary

Looking for a Design Engineer 2 to support the electrical controls design team. The role will focus on electrical schematics, CAD drawings, electrical hardware controls, and BOM creation for project-based designs. Key Responsibilities

• Design and modify electrical control schematics .
• Create and modify CAD drawings .
• Develop and maintain BOMs .
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and relay logic.
• Understand PLC inputs/outputs and electrical hardware controls.
• Troubleshoot design and system issues.
• Support electrical controls projects from requirements through testing.
• Collaborate daily with engineering and project teams.
• Participate in shop-floor activities to understand hardware and manufacturing.

Required Skills

• 2 4 years of relevant engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Strong electrical controls design experience
• Ability to design electrical schematics and hardware
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
• Understanding of relay logic and PLC I/O
• AutoCAD Electrical or other Smart CAD experience
• Electrical hardware/control systems experience
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork

Education Flexibility

• Bachelor's degree preferred/required
• 2-year degree + 6+ years relevant experience may be considered
• Relevant Master's degree with no experience may be considered
• Internships do not count toward required experience

Ideal Candidate

An Electrical/Controls Design Engineer with hands-on experience creating electrical schematics, CAD drawings, BOMs, and control-system designs , preferably using AutoCAD Electrical or a similar CAD platform.
