Job Description

This 3rd shift Compounder (Spray) role focuses on accurately measuring, mixing, and processing liquid and powder ingredients using homogenizing and spray dry methods. The position plays a key role in maintaining product quality and safety by following detailed batch instructions, adhering to food safety and GMP standards, and documenting all process steps in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve ingredients and accurately measure them using scales in accordance with standard batch instructions.
• Mix various liquid and powder ingredients and process them using homogenizing and spray dry methods of compounding.
• Identify solid ingredients that require melting and safely melt them using hot plates.
• Identify ingredients that require dilution, dilute them appropriately, and record all raw material usage.
• Verify the weight and contents of raw materials to maintain quality standards.
• Conduct in-process batch inspections and document all process events following established procedures and policies.
• Accurately weigh dyes and other substances into equipment as specified in batch instructions.
• Check for consistency in batches and measure the viscosity of mixtures to ensure product quality.
• Collect samples from batches and deliver them to the laboratory for testing.
• Follow food safety guidelines at all times and maintain accurate documentation of all work completed.
• Handle and blend raw materials in accordance with production and safety requirements.
• Work effectively in a team-based, cross-functional production environment.
• Wear a uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the role.

Work Environment

This role operates in a team-oriented, cross-functional production environment that follows GMP and food safety standards. The position is on 3rd shift, typically scheduled Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The work involves handling chemicals, powders, and raw materials, using equipment such as scales, hot plates, homogenizers, and spray dry systems. The environment emphasizes safety, sanitation, and accurate documentation. A uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are required while working on the production floor.

This is a Permanent position based out of East Brunswick, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $57200.00 - $57200.00/yr.
