Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Structured Cabling/Low Technician in the Kansas City region to perform cabling and fiber installations in large scale mission critical environments . This role focuses on hands‑on installation, testing, and documentation of structured cabling systems within data centers, ensuring reliable network infrastructure for enterprise operations. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling in data center environments. Perform cable pulls, routing, dressing, labeling, and documentation. Work with patch panels, racks, and network equipment to ensure clean and organized installations. Conduct site assessments and pre-installation planning for efficiency and proper cable management. Troubleshoot cabling issues and perform quality assurance to ensure all installations meet technical standards. Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines, including working at heights and in confined spaces. Collaborate with other technicians and infrastructure teams on deployment projects. Required Qualifications 3+ years of structured cabling experience in data centers or enterprise environments Demonstrated proficiency in fiber optic cabling, including installation, termination, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and the use of fiber-specific test equipment such as OTDRs and power meters. Experience with CAT5/CAT6 and fiber optic cabling installation and termination Knowledge of patch panels, racks, and cable management best practices Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation Proficiency with cable testing tools (e.g., Fluke or similar) Physically capable: lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and in confined spaces Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications BICSI Installer or Technician certification Fiber optic installation and testing experience OSHA 10 or 30 certification Experience in enterprise or data center deployments Why Join ServicePoint IT?
