Onsite Position Position Summary
The Medical Scribe supports healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real time, allowing providers to focus on patient care. The scribe works closely with physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment, ensuring timely, precise, and complete medical records. Key Responsibilities

The Medical Scribe supports healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real time, allowing providers to focus on patient care. The scribe works closely with physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment, ensuring timely, precise, and complete medical records. Key Responsibilities
- Accompany providers during patient visits and document medical histories, physical exams, assessments, and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Accurately record patient information, including chief complaints, history of present illness (HPI), review of systems (ROS), and past medical history
- Document procedures, lab results, imaging findings, and provider interpretations
- Prepare and complete clinical notes for provider review and signature in a timely manner
- Track and enter orders for labs, imaging, referrals, and prescriptions as directed by the provider
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, clinic workflows, and documentation standards
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies regarding patient confidentiality
- Assist with chart preparation prior to visits and follow-up documentation after visits
- Communicate effectively with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation when needed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience as a medical scribe, medical assistant, or in a healthcare setting a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Excellent typing and listening skills (
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
Training
- On-the-job training provided
- Instructions on medical terminology and EHR systems
- HIPAA and compliance training
