The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Position Summary:

To provide clinical optometric care in a professional manner to the YK Delta populace.

Position Qualifications:

• Minimum Education:
  • Graduate
  • Diploma from an accredited school of optometry.
• Licensing/Certification:
  • Must have an Alaska license and be certified to use both diagnostic and therapeutic agents.
  • Successfully pass the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease (TMOD) certification or the National Board of Examiners in Optometry equivalent.
• Equipment/Tools:
  • Must have the computer skills needed to access computerized medical records.
• Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
  • General Optometry
• Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Ability to supervise medical students, residents, and physician extenders, and Community Health Aide clinical practice. Also oversee medical staff in their service area.
