Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (ER) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical conditions, including cardiac, GI, psychiatric, COPD, and respiratory illnesses. The RN manages patient care and coordinates with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a 19-bed ER with 3 trauma bays.
• Manage ER holds intermixed within the ER.
• Collaborate with the ED physician, 2 mid-level providers, and other staff.
• Ensure proper use of Paragon EMR system for patient documentation.
• Administer respiratory treatments and support RT procedures including ABGs.
• Maintain safety and security, utilizing in-house security when necessary.
• Perform phlebotomy or support nurse draw procedures as needed.

Requirements:

• Current nursing license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
• Experience with cardiac, GI, psychiatric, COPD, and respiratory illness patients.
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and every other weekend.
• Competence in using the Paragon and Allscripts charting systems.
