Job Summary
The Development & Marketing/Communications Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the donor database, planning for and driving marketing initiatives for the organization through the development and delivery of on-brand content across channels while providing organizational support to increase community awareness and build resources for Kitsap Habitat.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative
· Serve as an advocate for Habitat for Humanity's mission and the importance of expanding pathways to homeownership in Kitsap County.
Database/Development Responsibilities: (50%)
· Support Donor cultivation activities of the Kitsap Habitat mission through timely acknowledgements of gifts and data entry.
· Assist in weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting internally and externally.
· Ensure timely and accurate information sharing within the department and to other departments.
· Maintain all paper and digital project files and archives completed projects.
· Process and acknowledge donor gifts daily.
· Maintain the donor database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of donor records, gift entry, acknowledgments, reporting, and constituent interactions.
· Provide mailing lists for donation requests and other mailings.
· Coordinate with the department on mailing and outreach efforts, external meetings and presentations, managing gifts, and in-kind donation inquiries.
· Notify the appropriate team member, in a timely manner, when team resources are needed for specific jobs.
· Other responsibilities as assigned by the development director.
Marketing/Communications Responsibilities: (50%)
· Work with Director of Development and across teams to create segmented communication and marketing plans and calendars aimed at achieving organizational goals and objectives (fundraising, campaigns, special events, stores, programming, etc.); develop and execute all plan tactics, including but not limited to:
o Coordinate communication plans and create and deliver content of the organization’s current and future social media channels.
o Manage and review content for organization’s public-facing website; update with fresh content on a regular basis.
o Develop and implement newsletters.
· Develop content and collateral needs for all tactics, including print, articles, presentations, signage, etc.; facilitate ongoing content editing, proofreading, and improvements.
· Monitor and analyze effectiveness of marketing efforts, including tracking key performance indicators like program pipelines, donor engagement, & website traffic.
· Champion brand standards, ensuring collateral, website, email, and campaigns consistently reflect our brand identity; develop templates for team-wide use.
· Represent the organization at select events, on committees, at meetings, etc., as appropriate.
· Maintain a directory and inventory of marketing and graphics assets, ensuring all resources are current and accurate.
· Gather and develop homeowner, volunteer, donor, and partner stories for use in fundraising and marketing materials.
REQUIREMENTS
· Education and Experience
o Bachelor’s degree preferred
o Minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit development, marketing, communications, sales, customer relations, or administrative support.
· Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
o Ability to build strong community relationships
o Excellent writing and proofreading skills
o Tech-savvy generally, with a strong proficiency in MS Office products; fundraising CRM/database experience preferred
o Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of people
o Organized with ability to prioritize scheduled and unexpected deadlines
o Ability to pass a background and reference check
o Commitment to the Habitat for Humanity mission
· Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
o Experience working in a nonprofit environment
DETAILS
Reports to: Director of Development
Compensation: Hourly. Position range: $20.82 - $29.04 (equivalent to $43,298 - $60,408 annually); Expected hire range: $24.04
FLSA Status: This position is not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); it earns overtime for additional time worked.
Benefits: 15 vacation/sick/personal days accrued; 11 holidays; 100% employer-paid health/dental/vision ; Simple IRA with 3% match after 6 months.
Hours: 36 hours per week. Typical business hours with some flexibility for preferred schedules.
Environment: This position will be based in our office located at 3581 Wheaton Way Bremerton, WA 98310. It can be reached by car or public transit. The building is accessible. This position will have a desk, computer, and phone line in a designated space. Minimal off-site travel is required. Occasional remote work is acceptable.
Conditions: This position will be regularly required to use a computer keyboard and screen, communicate with others, file and use a phone, and work at a computer for extended periods.
Training: This successful candidate will be onboarded and initially trained through a combination of in-person, online, and written trainings; they are expected to take the initiative to review materials as needed and seek understanding of new developments to perform their responsibilities.
