Controller Position at MedOne Surgical

Join the MedOne Surgical team in Sarasota, Florida. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and can bring structure, accuracy, and discipline to a growing manufacturing setting.

MedOne Surgical is a growing, entrepreneurial company that designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes specialty microsurgical products for treating the retina. Founded in 2000, the company is built on high-quality products delivered with outstanding customer service. MedOne products are used in operating rooms throughout the US and worldwide, with manufacturing proudly based in Sarasota and compliant with all FDA, European, and other global regulatory requirements.

The opportunity at MedOne Surgical involves leading the day-to-day accounting function and strengthening financial information, processes, and controls that support the business. The Controller works directly with the President and CFO, playing an important role in helping leadership understand financial and operating performance.

Responsibilities include owning the monthly close process, overseeing general ledger activity, establishing reliable inventory accounting, developing and maintaining product costing, coordinating the annual budget and periodic forecasts, strengthening accounting policies and internal controls, partnering with operations to analyze profitability and other manufacturing cost drivers, supporting improvements to accounting and ERP systems, and coordinating routine reporting with outside service providers.

We are looking for a professional with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Required experience includes 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience with hands-on responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. Hands-on inventory and product or cost accounting experience in manufacturing, medical device, or another product-based environment is also necessary. Strong Excel and accounting systems skills, along with analytical skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial insights are essential.

Preferred experience includes QuickBooks Enterprise experience, hands-on accounting leadership experience in a small or mid-sized manufacturing organization, CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional credentials, and experience in regulated manufacturing, medical device, or ISO-controlled environments.
