Quality Control (QC) Chemist- Naugatuck, CT

Position Summary

The QC Chemist is responsible for preparing, testing, and analyzing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports laboratory operations, maintains accurate documentation, and performs testing using established analytical methods and SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing and analysis of QC, in-process, and finished product samples. Maintain accurate laboratory records, notebooks, and quality documentation.
• Assist with investigations, including deviations, OOS results, and change controls.
• Perform instrument calibration, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support laboratory operations and maintain compliance with GLP, GMP, ISO 9001:2015, and Food Safety 22000 requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready laboratory environment.

Preferred Instrument Experience

• HPLC, GC, DSC, UV-Vis, IR/FTIR, Karl Fischer, Titrators, Viscometers
• Refractometers, Tensiometers, pH Meters, Analytical Balances

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field. Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.
• Internship, research, or laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work overtime or weekends as needed.
• Experience in GLP, GMP, pharmaceutical, food, chemical, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
