We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Facilities department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a Maintenance Electrician . Security Clearance : No Clearance Position Maintenance Electrician – Norfolk, Virginia Responsibilities Installation, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with diagrams, drawings, schematics and the national electrical codes. Experience in commercial and residential electrical work. Capable of and experienced in controller installation and repairs. Be able to plan an installation and draw up material list. Have some experience in phone and data cabling. Qualifications MUST HAVE COMMERCIAL INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE. JOURNEYMAN CARD HOLDER IS A PLUS. Physical and Environmental Requirements Physical requirements: Strong overall mobility; ability to carry, lift, walk, climb, pull, crawl, stand, bend, sit, reach, push, pull, crouch, kneel, and handle tools; visual acuity to perform job tasks; ability to climb on and around ships and move between yard areas; extended standing and walking (approximately 75% of time); ability to work in tight, confined spaces on board ships and in varied temperatures, wind, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and vibrations; lifting/carrying tools and parts weighing up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis. Vision Requirements: The worker must have visual acuity to perform tasks such as operating machines at arm’s reach and other skilled trades tasks. Other notes: Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and observe co-workers using tools and equipment. Job Levels JOURNEYPERSON 4 – Should need limited supervision and be capable of assisting others. JOURNEYPERSON 3 – Will need minimum supervision. JOURNEYPERSON 2 – Will need supervision. Should have the ability to progress for advancement. JOURNEYPERSON 1 – Will need close supervision. Should have the ability to progress for advancement.
