Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced Emergency Room environment. The successful candidate will have experience in emergency care and be knowledgeable in various emergency procedures and protocols.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Deliver patient-centered care in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist in the triage of patients and prioritize care based on clinical needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for all patients.
• Monitor and record vital signs, and maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems.
• Perform advanced assessment and interventions for critically ill patients.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and health management.
• Participate in departmental meetings and continuous education programs.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-acuity Emergency Room setting.
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS.
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, specifically EPIC.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with a score of 83% within three attempts.

Schedule and work commitment includes:

This position requires evening shifts, with a commitment of 48 guaranteed hours per week. Every other weekend shift is mandatory, and holiday shifts are worked as part of the permanent staff rotation.

Unit information includes:

• Emergency Room is a Level III facility with capabilities to receive STEMI and stroke patients.
• Patient to nurse ratios typically range from 1:3 to 1:4, depending on acuity.
• The unit features 18 beds, including 4 critical rooms utilized for trauma or codes.
• On average, the Emergency Room treats approximately 70 patients per day.
• Separate triage area present, with travelers allowed to participate in triage duties.

Additional information includes:

• RNs are not responsible for setting up placements for psychiatric patients; appropriate personnel will manage this.
• Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may lead to termination.
• Unit orientation will range from 1 to 3 shifts, depending on experience.
• Must be comfortable with possible floating to other areas within the unit.
