CDL-A Short-Haul Driver – York, PA Area

TransForce is seeking CDL-A Short-Haul Drivers to support regional transportation operations throughout South Central Pennsylvania and surrounding states.

CDL-A Short-Haul Driver Details:

• Reporting Area: York, Carlisle, and/or Mechanicsburg, PA

• Pay: $30 per hour

• Overtime: Not offered

• Schedule: Five days per week; weekend availability is preferred

• Preferred Schedules: Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday

• Start Time: Between 12:00 AM and 4:00 AM

• Shift Length: Approximately 12–14 hours within DOT-regulated hours of service

• Drivers Needed: Up to 5

• Route Type: Short haul within approximately 200 miles of York, PA

• Deliveries: Approximately 2–3 deliveries per day, depending on appointment times

• Freight: Food and beverage products, corrugated materials, and retail goods; no livestock

• Equipment: 53-foot dry van

• Handling: 100% no-touch freight with drop-and-hook assignments

• Additional Duties: Chocking trailers and sweeping trailers when needed

• Automatic-Only Drivers: Accepted

• Home Time: Home daily

• Temp-to-Hire: Yes

CDL-A Driver Minimum Requirements:

• Valid CDL-A

• At least 2 years of recent, relevant, and verifiable commercial driving experience

• Clean Motor Vehicle Record

• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements

• Ability to work weekends when required

CDL-A Driver Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a CDL-A tractor-trailer on short-haul routes

• Deliver freight throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding service areas

• Complete approximately 2–3 deliveries per day

• Pick up return loads when assigned

• Chock and properly secure trailers

• Sweep trailers as needed

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections

• Maintain accurate paperwork and communicate effectively with dispatch
