Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) with weekend coverage required every other weekend.

Job Description

The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients within the hospital setting. This role includes collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care, particularly within the Post Partum and Special Care Nursery units.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to neonates and pediatric patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and developmental milestones.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate families about infant care, including breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk.
• Manage various pediatric conditions, including asthma, bronchiolitis, and jaundice.
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care.
• Float to Post Partum and Special Care Nursery as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric nursing experience required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Experience with EPIC charting system required.
