MED/SURG RN - FULL TIME NIGHTS

Job Summary: At the direction and control of the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse provides professional patient care services.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssesses patient needs, plans and implements patient care activities and evaluates the patient’s response to treatmentManages activities within the therapeutic milieu and directs delivery of nursing care by other members of the nursing treatment team while promoting teamwork.Documents on individual flow sheet and progress notes all pertinent and meaningful observations and informationMay function as lead or charge nurseParticipates in computerized health information systems.Prepares reports for departmental and accounting purposes in a timely manner.Maintains nursing competenciesMaintains standards required by regulatory entitiesActively participate in all special eventsPerforms other duties as assigned.May be required to work evenings, nights, and/or weekends on a regular or as needed basis.Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Licensed in the State of Arkansas as a Registered NurseBLS (CPR) Certification RequiredACLS preferred but not required.PALS preferred but not required.Experience: Five (5) years’ hospital experience preferred.Physical Requirements: Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to:Reaching and grasping with arms and handsProofreading and checking documents for accuracyUsing a keyboard to enter or transform words or dataHearing in normal and soft tonesAbility to read and understand written English words and sentencesAbility to communicate orally and in writing in English words and sentencesAbility to understand spoken English words and sentencesAbility to communicate with others by telephone and e-mailAbility to perform duties and responsibilities promptly and with little direct supervision in planning and organizing workloadAbility to judge the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances or problems.The demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
