Tax Senior Manager

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Compensation: $170,000 – $205,000

Schedule: Full-time | Hybrid

An established public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join its Las Vegas tax practice. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced CPA who enjoys technical tax review, client service, staff development, and practice growth.

The role is ideal for someone who can take ownership of complex tax engagements, serve as a subject matter expert, manage client relationships, supervise tax preparers, and represent clients before taxing authorities.

What You’ll Do

• Perform technical tax review and approval of complex tax returns
• Review and manage governmental tax examinations
• Serve as a subject matter expert in a tax discipline or industry area
• Take responsibility for larger, more complex tax returns
• Delegate work to tax preparers and manage workflow through the tax preparation process
• Serve as the client service lead for assigned clients
• Represent clients before federal, state, or local taxing authorities
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely delivery of client tax returns
• Support billing, collections, and engagement economics
• Supervise, train, and develop tax staff
• Assist with recruiting, performance evaluations, training materials, and professional development programs
• Research and evaluate tax preparation, research, and planning software
• Participate in practice development through referral sources, community involvement, and industry activities
• Prepare special reports and projects as requested by firm leadership

What We’re Looking For

• 7–10 years of public accounting tax experience
• Proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research
• Active CPA license required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
• Strong knowledge of current tax laws
• Proficiency with tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software
• At least 2 years of experience representing clients before taxing authorities
• At least 1 year of experience supervising and directing tax preparers
• Experience reviewing complex individual and business tax returns
• Strong client service, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage workflow, deadlines, staff, and client expectations
• Commitment to continuing education and technical development
• Ability to work occasional overtime throughout the year, with heavier hours during tax season
