Job Description

The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in the efficient operation of the warehouse by receiving, unpacking, verifying, and moving goods into storage areas. This position focuses on maintaining organized inventory, assembling customer orders, and supporting shipping and receiving activities while ensuring product quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and verify incoming goods and move them into designated storage areas.
• Prepare products for storage by cutting string, breaking down products, removing all items from the floor, and leveling product in slots.
• Identify and separate damaged products to maintain quality standards and accurate inventory.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves according to established procedures.
• Relocate assembled orders to designated holding areas for the shipping department.
• Support loading and unloading of trucks and other delivery vehicles as needed.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including handling materials and packaging products for shipment.
• Work effectively in a warehouse and production environment, performing general labor and material handling duties.
• Use equipment such as electric pallet jacks and, when applicable, forklifts to move materials safely and efficiently.
• Occasionally use computers to process invoices or orders and update relevant records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies and safety guidelines.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
• Follow all operational procedures and quality standards to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory management.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience operating electric pallet jacks in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Hands-on experience with material handling, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving.
• Ability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to quality and detail in handling and verifying products.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and document information accurately.
• Ability to occasionally use computers for processing invoices or orders.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with hands and arms frequently.
• Comfort working in a production and warehouse environment with moderate noise and changing temperatures.
• Willingness and availability to work weekends, holidays, day and night hours, and overtime as necessary.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• GED or High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical degree is preferred but not required.
• Forklift operation experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience in general labor, production, and packaging is beneficial.
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse and production environment where employees frequently sit, walk, and stand, and use their hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects. The position requires regular crouching, kneeling, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching with hands and arms. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely around materials, equipment, and moderate noise levels. The work area may be subject to changes in temperature, and shifts typically range from 8 to 10 hours. Team members must be able to work weekends, holidays, day and night hours, and overtime as assigned, maintaining productivity and safety throughout their shifts.

This is a Contract position based out of Jessup, MD.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
