Mechanical Piping Designer

We specialize in commercial air conditioning, plumbing, and mechanical piping, and the maintenance of these systems. Way Engineering is at the forefront of design-build/design-assist, preconstruction, commissioning, building information modeling (BIM), and quality control.We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Detailer to join our Houston office. This role is critical to producing coordinated and constructable piping layouts, ensuring project accuracy, efficiency, and field installation success.Responsibilities:Develop and coordinate details of mechanical piping modes and layouts using AutoCAD, Fabrication CADmep, and RevitPerform clash detection and system coordination using Navisworks Manage to ensure accuracy across disciplinesInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design with intent to produce fabrication-ready spool constructabilityCollaborate closely with lead details, project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure constructabilitySupport BIM coordination meetings and contribute to design/field issue resolutionsMaintain drawing accuracy, version control, and compliance with company detailing standardsRequirements:Strong understanding of commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping systemsProficiency in Navisworks Manage, Fabrication CADmep, AutoCAD, and Revit (required)Working knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to interpret construction documents, equipment submittals, and engineering drawingsPrevious construction field or fabrication shop experience highly preferredPerks of the TradeMedical, Vision, Dental, Life InsuranceProfit Sharing Program401k RetirementHoliday PayCompany PhoneReferral IncentivesFree Lunch FridayYears of Service Appreciation Program #J-18808-Ljbffr Way Engineering
