Respiratory Therapist - Full Time Nights- Jeff Hwy

Providing respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to in‑patients and out‑patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric ages. Job Duties Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient. Educates patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans. Performs diagnostic procedures. Provides care based on physical, psycho‑social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patient served in the assigned area. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction, explanation of services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communication style. Other related duties as required. Education and Experience Associate’s Degree (required) Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) Work experience: none required. Certifications Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice. Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficiency with Windows‑style applications, various software packages specific to the role, and keyboard proficiency. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical and Environmental Demands Physical demands include heavy lifting (occasionally exceeding 100 pounds, frequently 50 pounds, or constantly 20 pounds or more), repetitive lifting, stooping, bending, reaching, and grabbing with arms and hands. The role requires prolonged sitting or standing, travel within and between facilities, and a flexible work schedule that may include 24/7 coverage, weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability. The incumbent is exposed to blood, body fluids, tissue, hazardous medications, and chemicals. Mechanical lifting devices or team lifts should be utilized whenever possible.
