Director of Nursing - Endoscopy Center of Toms RiverEndoscopy Center of Toms River is an ambulatory surgical center conveniently located on Lakehurst Road in Toms River, New Jersey. With a strong focus on safety, comfort, and clinical excellence, we strive to maintain the highest standards in patient satisfaction and procedural outcomes.The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and coordination of nursing services to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care. The DON works collaboratively with center leadership, physicians, and clinical staff to support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and superior patient outcomes.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with center leadership to provide oversight and direction of nursing care and patient scheduling in accordance with center policies, procedures, and objectivesEffectively presents information and responds to questions while maintaining professional relationships with physicians, leaders, staff, vendors, patients, and the general publicServes as a clinical leader and resource to nursing and support teamsAnalyzes and evaluates nursing care practices to improve quality outcomesCoordinates patient care activities with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure continuity of careParticipates in patient care as needed and oversees clinical areas to ensure patient needs are metEnforces nursing practice standards, licensure requirements, and accreditation regulationsActs as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare teamReviews, revises, and implements patient care policies and procedures as neededResponds to emergency situations and ensures staff competency during emergenciesOversees nursing activities during emergencies to ensure patient safetyManages patient and staff flow to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated and surgical site infectionsReviews and analyzes clinical documentation for compliance with policies, procedures, and regulationsMonitors FTE utilization and recommends cost-effective staffing and scheduling practicesOversees orientation programs for new clinical employeesRecommends and assists with continuing education and professional development for staffPrepares and adjusts clinical staffing schedules based on daily operational needs, staff skill level, holidays, and vacationsEnsures appropriate cross-training across clinical areasReviews time and attendance records as requiredObserves, evaluates, and supports performance improvement of all clinical personnelInterprets and enforces center policies and proceduresWorks with leadership to address staff concerns, suggestions, and performance improvement opportunitiesPromotes adherence to safety policies and best practicesPartners with center leadership and the Safety Officer to implement regulatory standards and workplace safety initiativesMaintains a safe, clean, and efficient clinical environmentOversees care, cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and maintenance of clinical instruments and equipmentIdentifies and reports deficiencies in supplies, equipment, and contracted servicesSubmits required documentation to risk management, as applicableEnsures OSHA compliance and availability of required safety suppliesPromotes efficient use of center resources and cost containmentEvaluates clinical needs and makes purchasing recommendations within budget guidelinesAssists in the development and implementation of operating and capital budgets, as requiredActively participates in center committees, meetings, in-services, and staff development activitiesContributes input toward short- and long-term operational and clinical goalsPerforms additional duties as assignedQualificationsActive RN license in the state of New JerseyMinimum of 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience (ASC, endoscopy, perioperative, or acute care preferred)Strong knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and professional nursing standardsProven leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environmentBenefitsCompetitive pay with bonus opportunityMedical, Dental, and Vision plansPaid Time Off supporting work/life balanceApply Now – Come Join Our Team!
