Job Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/22/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours per week: 36 hours Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Position Registered Nurse - MedSurg/PCU Days Location Facility located in a Critical Access Hospital in California. Responsibilities Identify and assess the educational needs of patients and their significant others, providing tailored patient education using appropriate modalities. Ensure patient safety through preventive measures, including the application of side rails, restraints, and safe equipment usage, in accordance with established policies. Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of all equipment within the PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas, employing troubleshooting techniques and referring to equipment manuals as necessary. Implement and adhere to infection control and isolation procedures, maintaining meticulous documentation. Utilize standard precautions and uphold high standards of hygiene and safety. Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses throughout the assigned shift. Provide accurate charge and ensure timely completion of physician orders, including a 24-hour check of orders as required by the shift. Deliver a thorough change of shift report to oncoming staff members, ensuring clarity and accuracy. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care. Report critical lab values to physicians in a timely manner as per established policies. Oversee the maintenance and restocking of emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Shift Information Day Shift, with holiday coverage required. Qualifications Active Washington State nursing license.
