Do you have what it takes to Be Calspan?ResponsibilitiesRead, interpret and follow engineering drawings, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble product.Close tolerance mechanical adjusting, fitting and alignment to ensure the product meets quality standards.Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified. Rework and/or repair assembled equipment.Perform cutting, grinding, and material preparation per drawing or specification.Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using precision measuring instruments.QualificationsPreferred Education & Experience:Associates degree in related discipline3+ years of experience or;A combination of education and experience equivalent to abovePreferred Knowledge / Ability:Proficient at reading/interpreting fabrication drawingsProficient with various handheld tools, drill presses, light fabrication tools, hose assembly equipment and torque wrenchesExperience using overhead crane, forklift, material handling equipmentBasic computer skills; materials management systems preferredSelf-starter ability to work independently with little supervisionStrong communication, organizational, time management, and basic mathematical skillsAbility to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem, produce a new concept and or ideaAt Calspan, we promote an environment that empowers employees and encourages innovation.
