Maintenance Manager

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supervision of direct reports
  • Schedule reporting technicians to achieve optimal efficiencies in accomplishing preventive maintenance, work orders, and standing work requests.
  • Assure compliance to all personnel, quality assurance, and all other company policies.
  • Assure all equipment management documentation is current, correct and turned in
  • Must be firm, fair and honest in all relationships.
  • Assure that the shop and other areas of the facility under maintenance care are kept clean and orderly.
• Supervise contractors.
  • Bid small projects.
  • Develop job requests.
  • Draft purchase requisitions.
  • Manage and schedule projects.
• Continuously improve equipment management by feedback to maintenance purchaser, scheduler, and Plant Manager to “keep from happening again.”
• Be factual. Discussions held need to be professional and that you understand the facts before you assume who/what/where/when.
• Manage install and upkeep of facility equipment (HVAC, plate chiller, steam generator thermal oil heater, gas fired water heater,) and manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions utilizing inspection, operation and testing of equipment for diagnostic purposes. Provide support for toot cause analysis to create corrective actions to prevent repeat issues.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Manage service calls and contractors to ensure all are operating in a safe and compliant manner
• Update E-Maintenance system with accurate and timely information related to work scheduled and performed.
• Closely monitor ever-changing production schedule to plan projects and repairs requiring downtime to coincide with production scheduling demands; Communicate schedules and align outage and shutdown needs with team.  

• Qualifications
• AS/BS in engineering or related field strongly preferred.
• 5+ years supervisory/management experience in industrial maintenance setting, preferably in a food related industry
• Proven knowledge of compressed air, boilers, chilled water, HVAC, and electrical distribution systems: Basic AutoCAD proficiency
• Must be willing and able to work off shift, weekends, and holidays if needed.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, anticipate changing project needs, and meet deadlines. Thorough working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety Standards.
• Program Logic Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives, 480 volt electrical
• Manager Responsibilities include supervising assigned maintenance/refrigeration staff.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Understanding of food manufacturing GMPs is a plus.
• This is not a facility maintenance position. It is considered technical mechanical maintenance leadership role.
