Lead Software Engineer - MLIO Assistant

Salary: $64,000 - 104,000 per year Requirements:

• We want someone with formal software engineering training or certification and at least 5 years of applied experience.
• You should have practical experience across system design, application development, testing, and operational resilience.
• We need advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java or Python.
• You should bring hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native environments.
• We expect strong technical depth in one or more disciplines, such as AI/ML, UI development, or mobile development.
• You should be able to solve design and functionality issues independently with minimal oversight.
• A background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field is required.
• We value experience with GenAI and AI agents.
• We prefer hands-on expertise with Terraform for infrastructure deployment, and knowledge of EAC is a plus.
• We prefer practical experience with AWS container orchestration services such as ECS and EKS.
• Experience in ML engineering is advantageous.
• We also value extensive AWS experience, including deploying, managing, and scaling applications with services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Strong understanding of AWS security best practices and cost optimization is preferred.

• We collaborate with cross-functional teams, integration partners, and key stakeholders to align requirements, remove blockers, and deliver projects successfully end to end.
• We provide technical direction and guidance to support our business teams, contractors, and vendors.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and troubleshoot code written by others.
• We make decisions that shape product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
• We work hands-on with large language models, including API integration, streaming responses through SSE or WebSocket, and managing the full request lifecycle.
• We assess LLM performance factors such as latency, token consumption, cost impact, and output quality.
• We apply prompt engineering techniques, including context window management, token budgeting, and core LLM use cases.
• We leverage Amazon Bedrock for model invocation and work with supporting AWS services.
• We contribute actively to the engineering community by promoting our frameworks, tools, and software development life cycle practices.
• We influence peers and decision-makers to adopt leading-edge technologies.
• We help foster a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
