Emergency Department RN Requirements Minimum three years of recent Emergency Department RN or emergency room nursing experience Current Vermont RN license or compact multistate RN license Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications TNCC certification preferred Experience caring for patients with a broad range of acute illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills Ability to work independently and effectively in a rural emergency care setting Familiarity with Meditech preferred, with the ability to learn electronic medical record systems quickly All required credentialing documentation must be submitted at least five business days before the scheduled start date Flu vaccination is required Emergency Nursing Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. Rapidly assess, triage, prioritize, and reassess patients based on changing clinical needs. Deliver safe, timely interventions while managing multiple patients in a dynamic emergency department. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS personnel, and inpatient teams to coordinate patient-centered care. Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly using sound clinical judgment. Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient outcomes.
