The more you participate, the more you earn!/li/ulpThe Pharmacy Technician Supervisor for Medical Management is responsible for leading a team of pharmacy technicians supporting prior authorization (PA) workflows. This role ensures efficient, compliant, and timely processing of medication authorization requests while driving operational excellence, team development, and high-quality service for patients, providers, and payers./ppHours are Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm and will be a hybrid position once team member is fully trained./ppTeam Leadership Operations/pulliSupervise, coach, and support pharmacy technicians handling prior authorization requests/liliMonitor daily workflows, productivity, and accuracy to ensure service level targets are met/liliProvide real-time problem-solving support for escalations and complex cases/liliAssist with staffing plans, scheduling, and workload distribution/li/ulpPrior Authorization Oversight/pulliEnsure accurate and timely submission and follow-up of prior authorizations/liliOversee documentation, payer communication, and compliance with regulatory requirements/liliIdentify and resolve barriers impacting authorization turnaround times/liliPartner with pharmacists and providers to optimize approval outcomes/li/ulpPerformance Quality Management/pulliTrack and report on key performance metrics (turnaround time, approval rates, productivity, quality)/liliConduct audits and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives/liliEnsure adherence to IU Health policies, SOPs, and payer guidelines/li/ulpTraining Development/pulliOnboard and train new pharmacy technicians on PA processes and systems/liliProvide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations/liliSupport professional development and skill-building initiatives/li/ulpCollaboration Communication/pulliServe as a liaison between pharmacy, providers, payers, and internal stakeholders/liliCommunicate process updates, regulatory changes, and system enhancements/liliPartner with leadership to drive workflow improvements and system alignment/li/ulpQualifications/ppRequired/pulliPrevious supervisory/leadership experience/liliThe absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs/liliStrong mathematical calculation skills/liliPharmacy Technician experience and active Indiana Pharmacy Technician License/liliKnowledge of pharmacy and hospital computer systems and computer-assisted devices/liliStrong written and verbal communication skills/liliStrong customer service skills/liliFull proficiency typing and using Microsoft Office applications/liliHigh School Diploma or GED required/liliAssociate degree or equivalent experience preferred/liliPharmacy Technician National Certification/liliActive Indiana Pharmacy Technician license (or eligible upon hire)/liliNational certification (CPhT) required/li/ulpPreferred/pulliExperience in medical management, prior authorizations, or specialty pharmacy/liliFamiliarity with payer requirements, formularies, and utilization management/liliExperience with EMR systems (e.g., Epic) and pharmacy/PA platforms/li/ulpKey Skills/pulliStrong leadership and team-building abilities/liliExcellent organizational and problem-solving skills/liliHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy/liliEffective communication and stakeholder management/liliAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment/li/ulpWork Environment/pulliPrimarily onsite at the IU Health ISC in Plainfield, IN/liliOffice-based setting supporting system-wide prior authorization operations/li/ulpOpportunity to lead a critical function impacting patient access to medications/ppCollaborative, mission-driven healthcare environment/ppEmphasis on professional growth and system-wide innovation/ppWe are an equal opportunity employer.
