Their main duties include:Technical OperationsInstallation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including but not limited to compressors, heat pumps, steam, ductwork, rooftop units, mini splits, VRFs, boilers, chillers and large tonnage split systemsSystem inspection and testing to detect malfunctions and verify compliance with specificationsTroubleshooting and diagnosing issues, repairing or replacing defective components, and adjusting system controls for efficiencyPreventive maintenance, such as cleaning ducts, checking for leaks, replacing filters, and calibrating thermostats to extend system lifespan as well as replacing pump seals, motor bearings, air filters, belts, sheaves, etc.Documentation and reporting of service work, inspections, and system modifications, utilizing CMMS systems and digital reporting tools for accurate record-keepingLeverage AI tools to optimize work efficiency, prioritize service requests, and enhance diagnostic accuracyCollaboration and TeamworkDemonstrate strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional collaboration by working effectively with facility managers, engineers, contractors, and other trades to complete projects on time and within budgetServe as an active team member in cross-functional project teams, contributing technical expertise and coordinating activities across multiple stakeholdersTraining and mentoring junior technicians and providing consultation on system upgrades for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvementBuild and maintain professional relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external service providers to ensure seamless service deliveryClient and Customer ServiceProvide exceptional customer service to building occupants, facility managers, and clients by responding promptly to service requests and communicating clearly about system status and repair timelinesMaintain professional demeanor in all client interactions, explaining technical issues in accessible terms and ensuring client satisfaction with service deliveryProactively communicate with clients regarding preventive maintenance schedules, system performance, and recommendations for improvementsAddress client concerns and complaints with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-oriented approachSafety and ComplianceCompliance with safety and environmental regulations, including handling refrigerants and electrical components safelyParticipate in safety training programs and contribute to a culture of safety awareness across the teamAdhere to all JLL safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements while performing dutiesAdditional DutiesRespond to emergency service calls during off-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to maintain critical building systemsAssist with special projects, system upgrades, and facility improvements as assignedParticipate in continuous learning opportunities to stay current with evolving HVAC technologies, building automation systems, and industry best practicesSupport energy management initiatives by identifying opportunities for system optimization and efficiency improvementsMaintain organized work areas, tools, and equipment in accordance with facility standardsRequired Skills and QualificationsTo perform effectively, an Industrial HVAC Technician typically needs:Technical ExpertiseProven experience in industrial or commercial HVAC systemsStrong technical knowledge of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsProficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, and thermal imaging equipmentKnowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulationsControls experience welcomed, but not requiredInterpersonal and Professional SkillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levelsDemonstrated customer service orientation with a focus on client satisfaction and relationship buildingProven ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments, collaborating with diverse groups to achieve common goalsProblem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skills for documenting work, explaining technical concepts, and interfacing with non-technical stakeholdersFlexibility and adaptability in efficiency and service deliveryCertifications and ComplianceRelevant certifications or licenses, such as EPA certification for refrigerants, may be required depending on the locationCurrent driver's license and clean driving record (if role requires travel between sites)Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by client sitesPreferred QualificationsExperience using CMMS or work order management systemsTrack record of delivering exceptional customer service in client-facing technical rolesExperience mentoring or training others in technical skillsFamiliarity with building automation systems (BAS) and energy management platformsExperience using AI tools or digital technologies to enhance work efficiency and system performanceThis position does not provide visa
