Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical nursing care to medium- to high-acuity cardiovascular patients
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac diagnoses including AMI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker insertion, pre/post coronary artery bypass surgery, and carotid endarterectomy
• Assess and respond to patients who are stable but carry a high potential for deterioration or increased complexity due to co-morbidities
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio not exceeding 1:4
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float to other units, including Med/Surg, as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current California RN License
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification
• EPIC charting experience
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience
• Successful completion of prior travel assignments

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for geriatric and complex cardiac patient populations
• Familiarity with step-down or cardiovascular unit environments
• Comfort with floating to Med/Surg or similar units
