As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions. Shifts: 1st Shift: 5:30am - 2:00pm with daily and weekend OT as needed. 2nd Shift: 4:30pm - 1:00am with daily and weekend OT as needed. Pay Rate: $26.03 Plus Shift Differential for 2nd Shift: $2.00 per hour How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) The Assembler (C) will be responsible for working in the process of cooling tower manufacturing. The successful incumbent may work in various areasand may assume additional duties as assigned.The successful incumbent will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions well, and work well in a team atmosphere. The Assembler (C) is expected to develop foundational assembly skills, mechanical aptitude, product knowledge, and familiarity with assembly processes while contributing to safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance. The incumbent performs standardized and repetitive assembly tasks while learning blueprint interpretation, assembly techniques, associated with engineered-to-order air handling equipment. What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts to manufacture air handling systems Perform the various adjustments, settings, and fine-tuning operations necessary for assembly Interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering revisions accurately Assemble and install mechanical, structural, and modular system components including fan sections,coils, dampers, filter systems, access sections, electrical mounting components, and relatedassemblies Independently assemble complete custom air handling units from start to finish using engineeringdrawings, specifications, and build orders Assist with assembly of fan sections, coil sections, filter sections, dampers, and related air handlingsystem components Earn and apply proper assembly, fastening, sealing, gasketing, and fit-up techniques required forair handling equipment Utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and standard assembly equipment safely andeffectively operate overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and material handling equipment safely and inaccordance with company procedures Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve simple assembly or fit-up issues while escalating morecomplex issues appropriately Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company standards Participate in cross-training activities to develop skills across multiple assembly stations andprocesses Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in improving assembly efficiency and workflow Perform additional duties as assigned What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: Required Experience & Skills Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn mechanical assembly processes Ability to follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and verbal direction accurately Ability to perform basic assembly, fastening, sealing, and fit-up activities Ability to safely utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and standard assembly equipment Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and material handling equipment safely and effectively Ability to develop blueprint reading and assembly interpretation skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment Ability to adapt to changing production schedules and work assignments Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, attendance, and continuous improvement Education & experience High school diploma or GED preferred Previous manufacturing, mechanical assembly, construction, fabrication, or industrial experience preferred Basic mechanical aptitude required Previous experience using hand tools, pneumatic tools, or measuring devices preferred Ability to learn blueprint reading and assembly processes required Forklift, crane, or man lift certification preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required Strong commitment to safety and quality standards required The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job.
