Emergency Department Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift position, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:30 to 08:00. Every other weekend and holidays are required as scheduled.

Job Description

The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse patient population with a variety of acute conditions. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols within the ED.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support to individuals experiencing medical emergencies.
• Monitor patient status, documenting changes and communicating with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring safety and efficacy.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management.
• Implement emergency protocols and care plans in accordance with established guidelines.
• Support patients' family members and caregivers during crisis situations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required.
• Travel experience preferred, but first-time travelers with 5+ years of experience may be considered.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland (or compact license).
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI, TNCC required.
• EPIC charting system experience is mandatory.
