Quality Assurance Specialist - Low Voltage Cabling

Job Summary The Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) supports mission‑critical construction by developing, delivering, and maintaining trade‑specific training programs focused on low‑voltage systems. This role creates comprehensive curricula and skill‑based learning paths for new and existing IES team members to elevate craftsmanship and technical proficiency. The QAS conducts field quality inspections and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications, installation standards, and customer expectations. Additionally, the QAS provides on‑site technical support to project teams, reinforces best practices, identifies process gaps, and partners with operations leadership to drive continuous improvement across all low‑voltage scopes. Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop, deliver, and reinforce trade‑related instruction focused on proper installation, material handling, and testing procedures through classroom training and hands‑on field coaching. Lead the development of site‑specific Quality Plans and Site Startup processes tailored to the unique characteristics of each project. Support the development of First‑of‑Kind (FOK) installations, execute inspections, and obtain customer approval on the final iteration. Manage the scheduling, tracking, inspection, and completion of customer and IES quality checklists, including input into the IES and customer specific platforms. Conduct, document, and report daily field walks focused on early identification of quality issues and verification of conformance with approved FOK standards. Utilize weekly reporting to assess and communicate project health against IES and customer quality standards, escalating identified risks to operations and program leadership. Participate in or lead project walkthroughs with customers and IES leadership. Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Implement training processes and best practices that add value and improve business performance. Maintain personal knowledge, training and proficiency on installed products and course materials. Work with the training team to design and implement new training programs and revise old programs. Ensure a safe and pleasant learning environment for staff/student. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of training experience or related role. Preferred: five (5) years of leadership or quality experience in telecommunications, electrical or a related technical or construction field. Preferred: BICSI certified trainer. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project). Must meet company minimum driving standards. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical and Mental Requirements Operate as a team member of management. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Lead by positive example on policy, quality, safety, employee, ethical, and customer satisfaction attitude. Must be able to work a non‑standard work schedule as required to provide job, team, or individual specific training. Must be able to climb ladders, use hand and power tools, lift 50 pounds. Must be self‑motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop, implement and review project process improvement(s). Must promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. Must possess proven problem‑solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations. Must have proven high skill level interpreting blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Must possess the ability to learn and teach the company and customer installation, handling and testing specifications and procedures. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements Minimum of three (3) years of training experience or related role. Prefer five (5) years of leadership or quality experience in telecommunications, electrical or related technical or construction field. Prefer BICSI certified trainer. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project). Must meet company minimum driving standards. High school diploma or equivalent. Must effectively use basic hand tools: screwdriver, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers, crescent wrench, sewing needle, cable sheers, flush cutting pliers, multimeter and rubber mallet. Highly knowledgeable of materials, methods, and tools involved in the commercial construction industry. Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Good knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their application. Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications. Working knowledge of construction processes (bid process, project management, delegation, financial, etc.). Minimum Years of Experience 6+. License Required – none specified.
