Laborer Wastewater Division Floater

Job Scope No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities. Responsibilities Clean out clogged sewer lines utilizing a high-power hose. Replace broken sewer lines and install sewer lines for new connections. Dig up sewers as necessary. Clean out catch basins using vactor trucks. Repair and maintain department equipment. Change oil, lights, filters, hoses, and tires on department trucks. Put solvents, degreasers and deodorants in sewers as needed. Drive and operate all equipment necessary to perform work. Break up, pour and repair concrete to complete sewer line repairs. Perform Duties as assigned at Treatment Plant. Clear snow and ice from sidewalks and catch basins in the city. Maintain manholes including cleaning, raising sunken manholes, setting back-up valves, and installing new manholes. Must carry a pager and be available for emergency on-call duty. Adheres to proper safety techniques and utilizes safety equipment. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner which promotes good working relationships with clients, customers, co-workers, and supervisors. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Special Requirements Education, Certification and Experience Required: Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Requires previous experience in the operation of heavy equipment or in construction. Requires valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker and airbrakes endorsements.
