Job Title: CT Technologist

Location: Main Hospital - New Brunswick

Department: Cat Scan

Job Status: Hourly

Shift: Night

Compensation: $47.67 - $56.74 per hour

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing a range of CAT Scan procedures, prioritizing patient care and ensuring the highest quality standards in their work.

• Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an A.M.A. accredited Radiography Education program.
  • Possession of ARRT or CRT certification and a valid New Jersey State License.
• Preferred:
  • Three years of experience as a staff technologist in a hospital setting, with the ability to work independently.

• Position patients according to established protocols to obtain required studies.
• Accurately position all anatomical areas as per standard operating procedures.
• Prepare for procedures to ensure timely execution.
• Ensure all necessary equipment is available before starting examinations.
• Under a Radiologist's guidance, instruct patients and administer cleansing preparations and contrast agents.
• Implement proper radiation protection techniques to safeguard patients and staff.
• Utilize appropriate protective apparel for reproductive organs when not required for imaging.
• Transfer and position patients effectively to achieve desired radiographic outcomes as specified by physicians.
• Assist physicians during examinations.
• Demonstrate competency in administering IV contrast media, including venipuncture, as per radiology policies.
• Maintain sterile techniques to prevent contamination and manage supplies effectively.
• Recommend maintenance for equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed, keeping maintenance logs for emergency services.
• Ensure the examination room is stocked with necessary supplies and restock as required.
• Manage patient scheduling and ensure a smooth workflow, including contrast administration.
• Oversee quality control for CAT scan examinations.
• Utilize the computer system in accordance with standard operating procedures, including entering studies in RIS and HIS, and managing cases in PACS.
• Participate in required in-service training and educational opportunities.
• Explain procedures to patients and address any questions prior to starting.
• Complete all necessary documentation before submitting procedures for interpretation.
• Assist in training student technologists.
