Job Summary:

Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is seeking energetic and enthusiastic actors to provide bone-chilling experiences for all our guests through the season. Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is a multi-million dollar haunted house featuring live actors, animatronics and bone chilling special effects.

Ripley’s Haunted Adventure Actors are integral in providing the thrilling, bone-chilling experience our guests are looking for. Actors perform in diverse roles both outside the house enticing visitors to enter, introducing and welcoming guests to the experience, and inside the house in scripted and unscripted roles. Some roles provide the opportunity for ad-libbing interactions with guests. Actors stay in character throughout any and all guest interactions, and provide a high level of professionalism and energy to engage all visitors. This is a full-time seasonal position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Entertain and engage our guests from the moment they are considering a ticket purchase until after they exit the show.
• Dress in costume and makeup to portray particular characters as directed.
• Depending on position, may be required to memorize and deliver a script in theatrical and engaging manner, creatively ad-lib conversations with guests, or operate an elevator/lift.
• Ensure guest safety within the house by monitoring their experience throughout the show.
• Maintain integrity of Ripley’s Attractions and Shows through regular cleaning and maintenance, as necessary.
• Additional specific duties as determined for each Ripley’s attraction.

Required Qualifications:

• Must love interacting with and scaring people!
• Must be adept at applying theatrical makeup, or be willing to learn how to apply makeup effectively.
• Must be able to work in dark and confined spaces, and be able to move quickly from one location to another within the house.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be mature and responsible, able to get along well with entire team of actors.
• Must be able to adapt performance as necessary and respond to performance feedback.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended lengths of time.
• Ability to move quickly throughout the house, climb stairs, navigate hallways, all in very low light situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer demonstrated ability to apply theatrical makeup.
• Prior experience in acting, or in a Haunted House environment is a plus.

Language:

• Must be fluent in English.
