Cook I - Position starts in August- Monday through Friday

Job TitleWe are seeking a dependable, high energy, team player to work on a team that prepares and cooks large quantities of food in a commissary kitchen that produces meals for multiple locations.The ideal candidate is motivated with a strong work ethic who enjoys being part of a team. Candidates must be reliable and capable of performing efficiently in a high volume production environment.This position supports school districts and follows the school calendar. Enjoy a predictable daytime schedule Monday - Friday 6am-2pm. No nights, weekends, or holidays. The position starts in August.Prepare cook and portion food according to recipesOperate commercial equipment including ovens, tilt skillet, kettles, steamers, and slicersProduce high volume menu items while maintaining consistency in taste, appearance, and qualityFollow production plansMonitor and document food temperatures according to food safety standardsAssist with receiving, rotating, and storing all food productsMaintain a clean and sanitary work areaCommunicate production concerns, shortages, or equipment issues to supervisors promptlySupport special events, catering, and menu changes as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, institutional food service,school nutrition program, healthcare, catering, or commissary environment preferred Ability to read and follow recipes, production records, and written instructions Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Serve Safe certification preferred or ability to obtain certification upon hire Physical requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 50 lbs.
