RN Endo

As an RN Endo at Wesley Medical Center, you will play a key role in delivering safe, high‑quality care to patients undergoing endoscopic and related gastroenterology procedures. Working within the Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and fellow caregivers to prepare patients for procedures, provide intra‑procedure monitoring and support, and deliver thorough post‑procedure recovery care and education. You will perform focused assessments, review medical histories, reconcile medications, and ensure that informed consent and safety protocols are completed prior to procedures. During cases, you will manage IV access, administer ordered medications and moderate sedation per policy, continuously monitor vital signs and patient responses, and promptly recognize and respond to changes in patient condition. You will be responsible for maintaining a sterile and safe environment, assisting with endoscopy equipment setup and operation, and supporting the physician with specimen collection, documentation, and timely communication of findings to the care team. After procedures, you will provide comprehensive recovery care, patient and family teaching regarding post‑procedure expectations, discharge instructions, and follow‑up plans, while advocating for patient comfort, dignity, and cultural sensitivity. In this role, you will contribute to quality and safety initiatives, documentation accuracy, and regulatory compliance within the endoscopy unit. You will participate in unit‑based education, skills development, and process improvement to support best practices in infection prevention, conscious sedation, and GI/endoscopy nursing care.
