Emergency/Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist

Northwell Health's Behavioral Health Service Line is seeking a full-time or part-time BE/BC Emergency/CL Psychiatrist at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, New York. This role involves providing consults to the Emergency Department and medical floors within a rapidly expanding tertiary care hospital. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a state-of-the-art psychiatric wing and potentially supervise students.Practice InfoSouth Shore University Hospital is Northwell's rapidly expanding tertiary care hospital in the Eastern Region.The hospital has recently received a $600 million investment as part of its transformation, with centers of excellence in heart and lung, neuroscience, neurosurgery, and maternity care.The renovated Emergency Department contains a state-of-the-art locked psychiatric wing built to CPEP specifications.The multidisciplinary team includes social work support.A new Psychiatry residency program is set to commence in 2027.ResponsibilitiesProvide consults to ED and medical floors.Supervise/teach students.CompensationCompensation starts at $305,000 for general psychiatrists, inclusive of 1 moonlighting shift per month.Annual performance bonus of up to $15,000.Nationally competitive salaries.BenefitsComprehensive benefits package.Four weeks' vacation plus paid conference/CME time.Academic appointment in Psychiatry at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.Advanced education opportunities.Shift & ScheduleFull-time or part-time positions available.Monday-Friday 9a-5p for full-time.Part-time positions also available (2-3 days per week).RequirementsMust be BC/BE.Must be licensed in NYS.Superior computer and EHR skills.Emergency Psychiatry or CL experience preferred.Must be able to assess ED and CL patients of all ages.
