Diesel Technician

Position Description Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Sharonville, Ohio offering a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Vocational or technical certification / post‑secondary degree (preferred) Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred) Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred) Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background & motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from prior three years) Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections/repairs Perform preventive maintenance Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform required repairs Replace defective components as instructed Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation Comply with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support) Equal Opportunity Statement Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and drug‑free workplace.
