Med/Surg RN - Ortho/Joint - Nights

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position.

Schedule / Shift

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Med/Surg RN specializing in Orthopedic/Joint nursing will provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients. You will be responsible for performing a variety of nursing functions in a critical care environment, including the administration of medications, patient assessments, and post-operative care for orthopedic procedures. Strong experience in Med/Surg and Ortho/Joint care is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and manage patient assignments including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes or emergencies.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and medications.
• Participate in unit activities and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Active RN license in the state of Maryland or compact state.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Experience with electronic charting systems, preferably Epic.
