Job Description

The Production Assembler builds pool pump products and related components from start to finish in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role follows detailed written work instructions, uses hand and power tools to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies, and supports all stages of the production line, including building, testing, and packing. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new skills, and contributing to a collaborative team on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pool pumps and related products to completion according to written work instructions and quality standards.
• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly and subassembly using hand tools and power tools.
• Work across all aspects of the production line, including building, testing, and packing pumps as needed.
• Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and documentation to assemble products correctly and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-assembly tasks such as gathering parts, tools, and materials required for production.
• Perform post-assembly tasks including inspection, testing, labeling, and preparing finished products for packing or shipment.
• Use testing instruments to verify the functionality of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies.
• Assemble and test pump assemblies and pool equipment components to ensure they meet performance specifications.
• Support electronic and electrical assembly tasks as required for the product line.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and production procedures.
• Collaborate with team members in a production line setting to meet daily output and quality goals.
• Adapt to different stations and tasks on the line based on production needs.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing assembly work in a manufacturing production environment.
• Proficiency in mechanical assembly and subassembly of components.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Capability to assemble products by following written work instructions and documentation.
• Basic electrical skills or electrical wiring experience relevant to assembly work.
• Experience with pump assembly or similar mechanical equipment.
• Ability to test mechanical and electrical devices using appropriate testing instruments.
• Familiarity with pool equipment or similar products is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints or diagrams for assembly tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift, except for the scheduled lunch break.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with electrical assembly or electronic assembly is a plus.
• Experience in subassembly work for mechanical or electrical products.
• Comfort working in a production line team environment with rotating tasks.
• Willingness to learn new assembly processes, tools, and products over time.
• Reliability and flexibility to support occasional Saturday work when requested.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled production facility, where temperatures reflect the outdoor weather conditions, so it can be hot in warm months and cold in cooler months. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional voluntary requests to work an additional five hours on Saturdays when business needs arise. The position requires standing for most of the shift, aside from a 30-minute lunch break, and involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments in a production line setting. No specialized personal protective equipment is required beyond typical work attire suitable for a manufacturing environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
