DevOps Engineer (Tier 3)Leidos is seeking a DevOps Engineer (Tier 3) to support a government contract in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ideal candidate will be able to support, maintain, and develop custom software applications and services. The DevOps Engineer (Tier 3) will be responsible for creating, testing, updating, and maintaining source code for custom software applications and services written in various programming languages and implemented in both Windows and Linux Operating System environments.Primary Responsibilities:Develop and/or modify custom applications and scripts implemented across multiple platformsMaintain custom software applications and servicesRecommend and implement improvements to existing software solutionsMaintain system architecture to ensure versatility and consistency across multiple platformsProvide input to software configuration and system documentation, improvements to capabilities, build roadmaps, and update software as requiredAttend meetings and reviewsCommunicate with internal team members across multiple areas, the program manager, and customer team membersCommunicate with external parties such as mission partners and vendors as requiredRequired Qualifications:Active TS/SCI w/polygraphRequires a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with at least 6 years of prior relevant experience. May have 12+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.Demonstrated custom development experience using Linux based servers and appliancesDemonstrated 3+ years of experience using Rust and/or Python to develop applications and services. Experience with Rust strongly preferred; candidates with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages will also be consideredDemonstrated experience implementing automation tools using AnsibleDemonstrated experience implementing custom apps using Docker containersDemonstrated experience in maintaining custom application code basesDemonstrate strong written/verbal communications, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills including willingness and ability to document and share informationAble to work well in a team environment and as an individual contributorExperience with agile development methodologiesDesired Qualifications:Knowledgeable of the following programming languages and IT technologiesRust (e.g. Actix, Rocket, or Warp, Wasm for client-side Rust Code)PythonVMWareUbuntu ServerWindows ServerSambaLinux FirejailDockerAnsibleGithub / GitlabSquidGreylogSQL / PosgresqlKnowledgeable in developing automation solutions for routine processes such as alerting and logging (e.g. PowerShell for scripting automation)Knowledgeable of web-based application development and best practicesKnowledgeable of custom browser plugin developmentUnderstanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architectureAbility to integrate AI models into web applicationsPreferred Certifications Areas or similar:Security+ITIL v3 FoundationCertified System AdministratorCertified Ethical Hacker (CEH)Web Application Pen Testing Certifications
