Desktop Support Technician

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician with hands-on experience supporting end users in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This role is responsible for providing technical support for hardware, software, Microsoft 365 applications, and end-user devices while delivering a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of desktop support experience and a strong foundation in troubleshooting Windows-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Document incidents, service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions within a ticketing system.
• Install, configure, deploy, and maintain end-user hardware and software.
• Support new hire onboarding, workstation setups, hardware refresh projects, equipment replacements, and office relocations.
• Perform user account support, password resets, and access-related requests.
• Follow established support processes, procedures, and knowledge base documentation.
• Escalate advanced technical issues to appropriate support teams when necessary.
• Maintain excellent customer service while communicating effectively with users at all levels of the organization.
• Meet service level agreements and ticket resolution goals.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge articles.
• Adhere to IT security policies, compliance requirements, and operational best practices.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in desktop support, help desk, technical support, or a similar IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating systems.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services.
• Experience working within a ticketing system such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar platforms.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral device issues.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting W365 a plus.

This is a Contract position based out of Madison, WI.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Madison,WI.
