Staff Physicist - Full Time

Job Description Department: Radiation Oncology – Code 207050. Worker Sub Type: Regular Work Shift. Pay Grade: 320. Responsibilities Coordinate the radiation safety program for the radiation oncology department. Perform and review all aspects of radiotherapy patient and equipment planning and quality assurance. Assist dosimetrists and physicians with special physics consultations to evaluate feasibility of IMRT, SRS, SBRT, and other therapeutic external beam deliveries. Assist therapists with patient set‑up and treatment delivery as required. Perform all aspects of radionuclide and brachytherapy‑related physics services. Coordinate TLD/Invivo dosimetry services: log and review accelerator performance problems, liaise with service manufacturers, and troubleshoot. Assess image guidance capabilities of imaging systems, including image quality, registration, and setup corrections. Education MS or PhD in physics or medical physics required. Certification & Licences Certification in therapeutic medical physics (or therapeutic radiological physics or radiological physics) from the American Board of Radiology, American Board of Medical Physics, or Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine. State licensure required. Qualifications Competent to interact with patients, accommodating special needs that may arise based on patient age. FLSA Classification Exempt.
