DescriptionHuntington Bank is seeking a Java Fuse Developer - IS Technical Specialist to help deliver Java‑based, REST API–driven microservices aligned with our enterprise architecture roadmap. This role will design and implement complex, mission‑critical IT solutions that support the bank’s enterprise technology strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver high‑quality software solutions in agile or waterfall environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology that drives value for colleagues, customers, and the businessAnalyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutionsCommunicate effectively with business and technical stakeholdersServe as the primary technical owner for assigned projects and deliverablesDutiesAnalyze, design, and develop systems based on user specificationsProvide technical support for resolving software or hardware issuesMaintain strong knowledge of development tools, frameworks, and industry trendsMentor or support less experienced staff as neededServe as project leader for designated initiativesComplete additional tasks as assignedBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree5+ years of relevant experience developing business/technical solutions using:Java, WebSphere, REST APIs, Spring Boot, Fuse, GCP, Kafka, JSON5+ years of experience with:DevOps, CI/CD, container-based development, and cloud deployment architecturesPreferred QualificationsStrong organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesExperience supporting cross-business initiativesDeep understanding of agile concepts (Scrum, Kanban)Strong communication skills for interacting with leadership and cross-functional teamsExperience with fraud technology solutionsHands-on expertise in Java, OOP, J2EE, REST, Spring Boot, and full web development lifecycleExperience with SQL and RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL)Hands-on experience with Google NoSQL databases (Bigtable or MongoDB)Experience with with Cloud SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) on GCPProven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex applicationsExperience building microservices (Spring Boot), and working with Jenkins, KubernetesExperience with JAX‑RS, Swagger, and API documentation/testing toolsExperience with Git/SVN/CSV repository strategies and code migrationsStrong SQL skills (queries, stored procedures, triggers) with Oracle and DB2Knowledge of data structures and algorithmsExperience with JWT for authentication/authorizationProficiency with Maven build automationExperience with GCP (Cloud Run, Terraform, Big Data, BigQuery)At least 3 years of experience leading development teamsExempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) ( No = eligible for overtime pay)YesWorkplace Type:OfficeOur Approach to Office Workplace TypeCertain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. Specific work arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.Compensation Range:70,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD AnnualThe compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
