Knot Sawyer 3rd. Shift 9:00 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Knot Sawyer on Third Shift to be located in West Plains, Missouri. The Knot Sawyer operates single blade circular saws to cut wood lumber to specified lengths.    

JOB DUTIES:

• Pulls 6’ to 16’ strips of rough lumber across saw from supply table.
• Places material to be cut on saw feed table and positions work piece against back stop, synchronizing action with foot pedal-controlled ascending blade and cuts wood, while maintaining production pace.
• Examines material prior to cutting to determine what cuts will remove defects and produce maximum usable footage.
• Places usable cutoff pieces onto feed table to side matcher and defective pieces into waste conveyor belt.
• Replaces dull or damaged saw blades and lubricates machine.
• Perform any other duties assigned.

  JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to score 90% or better on knot saw test within 5 working days of hire. 
• Flexible and willing to lean multiple roles within the production process.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures.
• Ability to reach work instructions and labels.
• Efficient communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently or as a team and follow instructions.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:

• Continually standing, reaching, grasping and repetitive movements.
• Occasionally required to walk or talk and frequently required to hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Continual specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Continually must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment and an environment that is usually loud.
• Regularly climb stairs to/from work stations.
• Continually work near moving mechanical parts.
